Zapier has been around for ages and as far as I’m concerned it is one of the most useful online services for small businesses. It lets you connect all of the apps you are already using and chain together actions to automate your processes. In other words, it helps you get the most benefit from the services and apps you’re already using. And the best part of all, it doesn’t require much technical know-how to make it work for you.
Some Examples
Send Scheduled Reminders to Your Team
Regular reminders can be a useful way to ensure critical tasks are completed. With Zapier, you can schedule reminders to be sent by email, text message, slack, teams or a long list of messaging platforms. Combine this with a work schedule on a Calendar and you can make sure your team always remembers to lock the office, submit their time sheets, or bring doughnuts for the conference room.
Control Your Inbox
If you’re anything like me, you probably find yourself flooded with emails every day. Staying on top of your inbox is a subject for another day but Zapier can be a great tool to help you get there. Set Zapier to scan your inbox for sales leads and copy that data to your CRM or a spreadsheet so you can make sure they aren’t lost in the shuffle.
Take Better Notes
I’ve recently started using Fireflies.ai to automatically record and transcribe my Zoom meetings. Using Zapier, I can have those recordings and transcripts automatically be sent to my team on Slack so they can immediately begin working on the action items from the call without waiting for me to share my notes or organize my notes for them.
And more!
This is really just the tip of the iceberg. There is an incredibly long list of apps it can connect with and they are constantly adding new features. There is also the promise of new AI integrations on the horizon that could be amazing.
Although there is always a learning curve, some of these automations can be real time savers in the long run and may be worth investing a little time to set them up.
