The 10x performer is no longer an outlier

Recent commentary by Nikunj K argues that being a “10x” performer is no longer a rare feat, but rather the new minimum expectation. The core premise is that the rapid integration of AI tools is permanently raising the baseline for everyday human output.

Beyond the headlines, the real move is looking at how this changes organizational design. The reality is that AI isn’t merely an efficiency play meant to help us execute the same tasks a bit faster. It represents a strategic imperative to completely re-evaluate our talent models, workflow structures, and overall competitiveness. If the minimum threshold for individual output is multiplying, leaders need to shift their focus from managing basic task completion to cultivating high-level strategic thinking. The most successful organizations moving forward will be those that recognize this elevated floor and rebuild their operations around empowered, AI-augmented teams rather than outdated metrics of effort.

I would be interested to hear how you are adjusting your talent and workflow strategies in light of these new tools. Feel free to share your perspective.
